Surround Sound Headphones 5.1?

I have two questions. I have been strongly considering purchasing the Tritton ax 720. I have never used surround sound headsets. For gaming, are these truly worth the purchase or are they a joke? If they are worth the purchase, which surround sound headphones 5.1 would you suggest? I’ve heard Tritton, Logitach (which I’m hesitant to buy), Astro, etc. are nice. Oh, and I’m not an audiophile or anything and probably can’t tell the difference between anything beyond blaring differences. I’ve also never purchased a set of headphones that cost more than .

    Surround sound headsets are a joke…..

    In order for "surround sound" to work you need to be able to hear out of both ears and your brain puts the sound in a relational space. It would be like selling 3D TVs to people with only 1 working eye.

    Best suggestion is to get a good comfortable pair of headphones, the games and your soundcard will do the rest.
